An intentional mashup that has some weight to it without being clunky. The nose delivers equal parts red fruit (raspberry) and bule (blackberry) - along with tobacco and spice. The tannins (which help to frame the fruit and spice) keep the finish nice and dry.
'16 double barrel
This was a chance to get a little crazy and come up with something that didn't really fit into any one box. Playing off the strengths of the individal pieces (Garnacha, Cabernet Franc, Zinfandel and Tannat), the blend delivers depth without being heavy. The wine was aged for nearly 20-months in French and American oak barrels. The final alcohol content is 14.6% by volume and a total of 69 cases were produced.
